CONGRATULATIONS TO THE Q92/CTV SUMMER EXTRAVAGANZA TEAM WHO CAME OUT WINNERS OF THE 2007 KINDNESS CUP!

A BIG THANK-YOU TO ALL THE PARTICIPATING TEAMS, WHO TOGETHER RAISED SOME $2,500 - AWESOME!!!

THE INAUGURAL 'HIGH FIVE AWARD' FOR THE TEAM THAT RAISED THE MOST MONEY WENT TO COMPUSERVICE, WHO RAISED $769; a TIP OF THE HAT TO CLYDE'S RESTAURANT/BAR WHO RAISED AN IMPRESSIVE $621, AND TO TEAM SCHLUTER SYSTEMS WHO TALLIED $420. A BIG THANK-YOU TO ALL THE TEAMS!!!    

The 2007 Kindness Cup

When: From noon, during the Charity Roast, Sunday, August 19

Where: At the Ménard Farm, at the Charity Roast

Why: To help set a new fund-raising record, to help sick children and their families, and mostly to HAVE FUN!

Who: The West Island Children’s Charity, headed by Ian Grant; tournament organizers Dany Viens, and other dedicated folk.

Teams: Five players, minimum two girls per team.

Cost/team: New this year, teams are given pledge sheets, and are responsible for getting sponsors to back their participation in the event. Each team is asked to try and  raise minimum $200. The team that raises the most will receive the 'High Five Award' on event day! (The pledge drive replaces the past registration fee).

 Tournament champs are awarded the coveted 'Kindness Cup', the Charity Roast Championship Trophy.

Buffet Dinner for players $10. (Other food also on site). Non-players $25.

Did you know? The Kindness Cup gets its name from the traditional song, often  referred to as the world's national anthem, Auld Lang Syne, by Robbie Burns.
